Integrated Education Week

‘Me, We, Our World’ was the theme for this year’s Integrated Education Week from 4 – 10^th March  2013. Blackwater pupils had the pleasure of being chosen to perform a drama at Stormont Parliament Buildings in front of local politicians and other integrated schools from around the country.

On Thursday 7th March the celebrations moved to the Long Gallery at Stormont. Trevor Lunn, MLA, hosted the event which included our pupils performing a drama called ‘Connected’ especially written for the occasion by Andrea Grimason. 

The drama incorporated sound and video to show how unique both we are and our planet.  It allowed our pupils to showcase their expressive talents to a global audience.  Mad scientists, an airhostess, explorer, doctor, stay at home mum and a spy all featured in this fantastic performance.

Thanks to all who took part and we look forward to another exciting Integrated Education Week next year.

Options Fair

In March 2013 Year 10 students embarked upon the first steps towards Key Stage 4 with an Options Fair attended by parents and students. The Options Fair allows students and parents to get information on the courses available in Blackwater IC at Key Stage 4 and enable them to make informed choices for their future. Courses such as Occupational Studies and Engineering at SERC are also offered and careers advisors are on hand to help out with any queries there may be.
