This is a broad course exploring practical and critical/contextual work through a range of 2D and/or 3D processes and new media and technologies. It is an unendorsed course where candidates can work in appropriate art, craft and design materials and processes. Candidates should produce practical and
contextual work associated with two or more of the areas below;

• Textile Design • Three- Dimensional Design • Photography |
Candidates will explore relevant images, artefacts and resources relating to a range of art, craft and design, from the past and from recent times, including European and non-European examples which will be integral to the investigating and making process.

MOVING IMAGE ARTS
Introduction
It can be said that no art or communication form is as influential or powerful in the 21st century as the art of Moving Images. From film and television programming to advertising and web streaming, it’s a subject that connects with people because its a combination of all other art forms (performance, visual, physical, musical, lyrical, textual).
GCSE
At GCSE pupils focuses on how to create moving image products, and the genres within film-making. Students plan and create moving image films, and analyse and critically evaluate the work of other film makers..
Through studying this specification, students:
• develop an understanding of film language;
• develop ideas through the creation of film and moving image artworks.
• develop the ability to manage film equipment and resources.
• develop technical competence in the use of film-making techniques; and
• evaluate the effectiveness of their own practice.
