Parents Council

 Do parents have a role in Blackwater? Have you ever asked yourself do I have a role to play in my child’s school? Well for the parents of pupils in Blackwater Integrated College the answer is definitely "yes”! Do you have views and ideas about how the College operates? Do you have questions about how decisions are made and would you like to have your say? Do you feel you would like to make a positive contribution to your child’s education? If the answer to any of these questions is “yes” then why not become more involved. Parents have two opportunities to do this, through the Parents’ Council and/or as a Parent Governor sitting on the Board of Governors.

All parents of children who attend the College are automatically members of the Parents’ Council which meets in the College at 7.00pm on the first Monday of each month. The Parents’ Council considers a wide range of issues surrounding college life, from fund raising and uniform policy to more serious issues such as anti-social behaviour. There is also a social side which allows parents to make new friends or become re-acquainted with old ones. I would encourage you to come along; I know you will be made to feel very welcome. Meetings are on the first Monday of each month.
